Learning Endeavors is excited to announce a new opportunity for Hawai'i High School Science and/or Media Clubs! Our Champions of Coastal Resilience (CCR) Call to Action Program is a competitive initiative to engage high school clubs in a supported Coastal Stewardship Project of their choice for the duration of the Spring 2022 Semester. Applicants who are chosen to participate will receive a $200 budget for their project proposal and a CCR Resource Kit that will help them in producing a 2-5 minute video about their Coastal Stewardship Project, which will be showcased at a CCR Film Festival on May 15th. The goal of these projects is to not only help students share their voices with the community, but also to aid in shining the spotlight on some very important coastal ecosystems in need of support.
The application must be submitted with the support of a faculty advisor by the February 15th deadline. If chosen as a participant of the Call to Action Program at least one member from your club is expected to attend three virtual meetings (2/21,3/18,4/25) from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm (teacher advisor must be present for first meeting on 2/21), as well as the Film Festival on May 15th from 5:00 pm- 6:00 pm. The deadline to submit the 2-5 minute Call to Action Video is on May 10th. Interested clubs can apply at learningendeavors.org/events!
