Mark Byers is a geospatial professional with a passion for using GIS and remote sensing solutions in order to understand and solve real-world problems. After receiving his BS in GIS from Ohio University, Mark moved to Maui in order to pursue his passion for scuba diving. He began working in his field as a 3D Geospatial Production Technician in the Space and Geospatial Operations Division at Maxar Technologies. During his time with Maxar Technologies he contributed over 500,000 km2 to mission projects in the form of 3D DSM’s and DTM’s. Currently, Mark serves the County of Maui as a GIS Analyst in the Real Property Assessment Division of the Department of Finance. Mark believes deeply in the mission of the Maui-based conservation education non-profit Learning Endeavors.
