Joyce Haase is an enthusiastic educator who teaches and resides on the Hawaiian island of Moloka’i.  She has taught in the tight knit community for over ten years and specializes in hands-on science and environmental education. Joyce is a National Board Certified Teacher and has achieved the highest level of certification possible for a classroom teacher. Working on instructional design for Champions of Coastal Resilience has been an opportunity to connect further with the coastlines of Maui Nui and consider the implications of climate change and sea level rise in Hawaii. Teaching science and stewardship with a Hawaiian cultural focus is a way that Joyce can give back to her community and honor her own values.
